Abdullah Sameer has recently released a video where by he tries to argue against the existence of God by pointing out that there is suffering in this world.

The video can be seen here:

The video doesnt really bring anything new to the age old argument, more formally known as Theodicy, or the problem of evil. I have already covered that in some depth here.

Something that Abdullah does’nt seem to appreciate is that this life is not the end, nor is it the result. He assumes that everyone should be rewarded and given a life full of anything they want, regardless if they deserve it or not. Im reminded of a verse in the Quran :

38|27|We did not create the heaven and the earth and everything between them for fun. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve—so woe to those who disbelieve because of the Fire.
38|28|Or are We to treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like those who make trouble on earth? Or are We to treat the pious like the shameless?

He mentions in his video that he would not want his children or creations to suffer in the way God does. However, Im sure he does. He wants his children to be good, and sometimes that means for them to work hard, sometimes that means for them to do things they do not want to do. He wants his children to be the best because they earned it.

Its important to remember that this life is a test, and the teacher doesn’t talk in the test.
