Halal Holiday Review : Sirayane Boutique Hotel & Spa
This hotel is just south west of Marrakesh, Morocco, and this short review will let you know what you can expect in Sirayane Boutique Hotel & Spa.
The Situation
Situated about 15 minutes from the town center, the area is quiet, surrounded by a wall, there are planted gardens and trees all around. We stayed in our own mini villa situation on the grounds, and this is a really good idea if you want your own private pool and general privacy. You have access to all the hotel facilities, but you have your own walled compound with your own garden and pool.
The Facilities
The hotel is relatively new and is aiming for the more discerning traveler. This is not Travel lodge or Disney world. Its a place where couples or burnt out professionals came come and unwind in peace and tranquility, the facilities are aimed for visitors with this in mind. So there is not a massive kids theme park, or kids water slides. This is the trendy , chic hotel where you relax and enjoy your self.
As you can see from the picture this hotel is slightly different in that its accommodation is in two parts, you have the traditional hotel block, which is a what you would expect, then have the compounds that are laid out in the gardens and pool area. If you want true privacy, there are private walled compounds which have their own pool, and this is where we stayed.
The rooms are beautifully designed, and tastefully decorated and well equipped.
The compound we were in had plenty of storage, which was in a wide corridor which led to the en suite.
The food was lovely, a little on the expensive side, I think it worked out around £40 for 2 people including drinks, which may not sound expensive compared to London etc, however there are restaurants in Morocco where you can eat for half that and it still tastes as good. However you pay for the class and surroundings you find yourself in, and this is why we didn’t mind the price. There is a free shuttle bus that takes you into town, you just need to speak to reception to find out the times and where and when they pick you up.
The Verdict
If you want a short break with access to a lovely city, but want to be in peace and tranquility, then this is a great hotel. Be sure to book the private walled compound if you want to swim on your own which are located at the southern end of the hotel. Would I go again? Probably if I wanted a short break with just my wife, but it doesn’t lend itself to me anymore as we have kids. Its really aimed at couples.
Hi
Is the food served at this hotel halal?
Thanks
Arsalaan
Yes, you will struggle to find non-halal meat in Morroco.
The only thing is that some hotels will serve pork and alcohol, but things like chicken and beef are halal.
If you are going please let us know what you think. Also if you have been anywhere that you recommend, we would love to hear about it
