The camera on the Honor 7 is a 20 mega pixel unit that has the potential for amazing images. Here’s how to get the best out of it.
At first I was really impressed with the Honor 7 camera, but as I used it more, I realised the images were a little dark, images especially indoors lacked detail. Darker areas just lacked detail. This made me aware that the Honor 7 is great in good light, but not so good in normal or poor light.
How to fix the Honor 7 Camera
I am aware of two strategies to try and improve the dark images that the camera produces by default. The first is to use the “edit” feature and manually adjust the image. I tend to use the “shadow” slider and lighten the image and then sharpen by around 10%. This normally gives quite good results.
The second technique to improve the image is to make use of the new Pro Camera mode and reduce the shutter time. The best way to do this is see what the auto shutter time is, eg if its 1/20, try halving it to 1/10 and that normally produces a much brighter, richer image. Its important to note that these are only for medium to dark shots, in day light, best just leave everything alone and take the picture.
It is a shame Honor cant make these fixes automatic, but I guess that is where the Honor 8 comes in 🙂
