An-Nahl (The Bees)

This Surah discusses the teleological argument, eg the design present in the universe. It also discusses the debt that the creation is to the creator, and how no matter what we do, it will never truly repay God, however God is merciful and is not interested in being paid back, but wants humanity to reach the peak of morality.
16|1|The command of God has come, so do not rush it. Glory be to Him; exalted above what they associate.

H 716, Ch. 56, h 6
Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Ali
ibn Asbat from al-Husayn ibn abu al-‘Ala’ from Sa‘d al-Iskaf who has said the
following:
“Once a man came to (Amir al-Mu’minin) Ali, recipient of
divine supreme covenant, asking him about the Spirit. ‘Is he not
Jibril?’ (Amir al-Mu’minin) Ali, recipient of divine supreme
covenant, then said, ‘Jibril is of the angels. The Spirit is not
Jibril.’ He repeated it to the man. The man said, ‘You have said
something very extraordinary. No one other than you thinks that
the Spirit is someone other than Jibril.’ (Amir al-Mu’minin) Ali,
recipient of divine supreme covenant, said to him, ‘You are
misled and narrate from the misled people. Allah, the Most High
has said to His Prophet, recipient of divine supreme covenant,
“Allah’s help will certainly support (the believers), so pagans do
not (seek) to hasten it. Allah is Most Glorious and by far too
exalted to be considered equal to idols. (16:1) He sends the
angels with the Spirit.”(16:2) The Spirit is (a creature) other than
the angels (peace be upon them).’”

16|2|He sends down the angels with the Spirit by His command, upon whom He wills of His servants: “Give warning that there is no god but Me, and fear Me.”
16|3|He created the heavens and the earth with justice. He is exalted above the associations they attribute.
16|4|He created the human being from a drop of fluid, yet he becomes an open adversary.
16|5|And the livestock—He created them for you. In them are warmth and benefits for you, and of them you eat.
16|6|And there is beauty in them for you, when you bring them home, and when you drive them to pasture.
16|7|And they carry your loads to territory you could not have reached without great hardship. Your Lord is Clement and Merciful.

H 6833, Ch. 28, h 7
Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan ibn Yahya from ‘Abd Allah ibn Yahya al-Kahiliy
who has said the following:
“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, speaking of Hajj, say, ‘The Messenger of Allah, O
Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has
said, “It (Hajj) is one of the two kinds of Jihad (striving for a cause). This is the Jihad for the weak
ones and we are the weak ones. However, no other thing is better than Hajj except salat (prayer). In
Hajj nowadays is salat (prayer) and there was no salat (prayer) in Hajj before you. Do not ignore Hajj
when you are able to perform it. Consider how your hairs become dusty during performing Hajj and
your skin rough and you abstain from looking at women. We are here and near. We have water but
still arrive (in Makkah) for Hajj with a great deal of difficulty. The case of those who live far away
from Makkah is much more difficult. All kings and subjects arrive (in Makkah) for Hajj after facing a
great deal of difficulties, such as changes in their diet, water, air and sun, which they cannot avoid.
This is in the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, ‘They carry your loads to a town
that you could only do so with causing a great deal of hardships to souls. Your Lord is compassionate
and kind.’” (16:7)

16|8|And the horses, and the mules, and the donkeys—for you to ride, and for luxury. And He creates what you do not know.
16|9|It is for God to point out the paths, but some of them are flawed. Had He willed, He could have guided you all.
16|10|It is He Who sends down for you from the sky water. From it is drink, and with it grows vegetation for grazing.
16|11|And He produces for you grains with it, and olives, and date-palms, and grapes, and all kinds of fruits. Surely in that is a sign for people who think.
16|12|And He regulated for you the night and the day; and the sun, and the moon, and the stars are disposed by His command. Surely in that are signs for people who ponder.
16|13|And whatsoever He created for you on earth is of diverse colors. Surely in that is a sign for people who are mindful.
16|14|And it is He who made the sea to serve you, that you may eat from it tender meat, and extract from it ornaments that you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, as you seek His bounties, so that you may give thanks.
16|15|And he cast mountains on the earth, lest it shifts with you; and rivers, and roads, so that you may be guided.
16|16|And landmarks. And by the stars they guide themselves.
16|17|Is He who creates like him who does not create? Will you not take a lesson?
16|18|And if you tried to enumerate the favors of God, you will not be able to count them. God is Forgiving and Merciful.
Man is in such a debt to God, that he is actually unable to be able to repay Him, even if he worships Allah 24/7, it would not adequately repay Allah.
16|19|And God knows what you hide and what you disclose.
16|20|Those they invoke besides God create nothing, but are themselves created.
If your prayers is directed at anything other than God, then this is wrong.
16|21|They are dead, not alive; and they do not know when they will be resurrected.
16|22|Your God is one God. As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, their hearts are in denial, and they are arrogant.
16|23|Without a doubt, God knows what they conceal and what they reveal. He does not like the arrogant.
16|24|And when it is said to them, “What has your Lord sent down?” They say, “Legends of the ancients.”
16|25|So let them carry their loads complete on the Day of Resurrection, and some of the loads of those they misguided without knowledge. Evil is what they carry.
16|26|Those before them also schemed, but God took their structures from the foundations, and the roof caved in on them. The punishment came at them from where they did not perceive.
16|27|Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them, and say, “Where are My associates for whose sake you used to dispute?” Those who were given knowledge will say, “Today shame and misery are upon the disbelievers.”
16|28|Those wronging their souls while the angels are taking them away—they will propose peace: “We did no wrong.” Yes you did. God is aware of what you used to do.”
16|29|Enter the gates of Hell, to dwell therein forever. Miserable is the residence of the arrogant.
16|30|And it will be said to those who maintained piety, “What has your Lord revealed?” They will say, “Goodness.” To those who do good in this world is goodness, and the Home of the Hereafter is even better. How wonderful is the residence of the pious.
16|31|The Gardens of Perpetuity, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow, where they will have whatever they desire. Thus God rewards the pious.
16|32|Those who are in a wholesome state when the angels take them—will say, “Peace be upon you; enter Paradise, for what you used to do.”
16|33|Are they but waiting for the angels to come to them, or for the command of your Lord to arrive? Those before them did likewise. God did not wrong them, but they used to wrong their own souls.
16|34|So the evils of their deeds assailed them, and what they used to ridicule engulfed them.
16|35|The idolaters say, “Had God willed, we would not have worshiped anything besides Him, neither us, nor our ancestors, nor would we have prohibited anything besides His prohibitions.” Those before them did likewise. Are the messengers responsible for anything but clear communication?

the idolaters believe in no free will and in predestination. They think that if the God of Islam is right, then how come He hasn’t forced them into worshiping Him, how are they able to continue be idol worshipers. Clearly this line of thought is rejected, as God gives people free will to do as they please.

16|36|To every community We sent a messenger: “Worship God, and avoid idolatry.” Some of them accepted God guidance, while others accepted misguidance. So travel through the earth, and see what the fate of the deniers was.
16:36: every community was sent a prophet, whose fundamental message was worship God and avoid polytheism.
The people then either accept this or reject it
16|37|Even though you may be concerned about their guidance, God does not guide those who misguide. And they will have no saviors.
16|38|And they swear by God with their most solemn oaths, “God will not resurrect anyone who dies.” Yes indeed, it is a promise binding on Him, but most people do not know.

16:38 the thought that no one can come back after death is not accepted in Islam.

16|39|To clarify for them what they differed about, and for the faithless to know that they were liars.
16|40|When We intend for something to happen, We say to it, “Be,” and it becomes.
16|41|Those who emigrate for God’s sake after being persecuted, We will settle them in a good place in this world; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.
16|42|Those who endure patiently, and in their Lord they put their trust.
16|43|We did not send before you except men whom We inspired. So ask the people of knowledge, if you do not know.

16:43 there is the principle that if you don’t know you ask those that do, the expert, as in taqleed.

16|44|With the clarifications and the scriptures. And We revealed to you the Reminder, that you may clarify to the people what was revealed to them, and that they may reflect.

H 133, Ch. 16, h10
Muhammad has narrated from Ahmad from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from
Hamza ibn al-Tayyar the following:
“Once I presented to (Imam) abu ‘Abd Allah, recipient of
divine supreme covenant, certain lectures of his father. In a
certain passage he (the Imam) said, ‘Stop there and remain

silent.’ He then said, ‘In the case of a text that may come to you
and you have no knowledge of its veracity, you can do nothing
but to hold and verify and refer it to the Imam of guidance so he
may show you the way of justice in it, enlighten you in the
darkness and introduce to you the truth. Allah the Most High has
said, “Ask about the heavenly Books, if you do not know, those
who know them.’” (16:43)

16|45|Do those who scheme evils feel secure that God will not cause the earth to cave in with them, or that the punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive?
16|46|Or that He will not seize them during their activities? And they will not be able to prevent it.
16|47|Or that He will not seize them while in dread? Your Lord is Gentle and Merciful.
16|48|Have they not observed what God has created? Their shadows revolve from the right and the left, bowing to God as they shrink away.
16|49|To God bows down everything in the heavens and everything on earth—every living creature, and the angels, and without being proud.
16|50|They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.

The angels do not suffer from issues of “pride” like satan or man does, additionally, they are infallible, they do as they are told.

“above” does not mean literally, but rather in authority, as in 2:63, the Torah was “above” the Jews.

16|51|God has said: “Do not take two gods; He is only One God; so fear only Me.”
16|52|To Him belongs everything in the heavens and the earth; and to Him obedience is due always. Do you, then, fear anyone other than God?
16|53|Whatever blessing you have is from God. And when harm touches you, it is to Him that you groan.
16|54|But when He lifts the harm from you, some of you associate others with their Lord.
16|55|To show ingratitude for what We have given them. Enjoy yourselves. You will soon know.
16|56|And they allocate, to something they do not know, a share of what We have provided for them. By God, you will be questioned about what you have been inventing.
16|57|And they attribute to God daughters—exalted is He—and for themselves what they desire.
16|58|And when one of them is given news of a female infant, his face darkens, and he chokes with grief.
16|59|He hides from the people because of the bad news given to him. Shall he keep it in humiliation, or bury it in the dust? Evil is the decision they make.
16|60|Those who do not believe in the Hereafter set a bad example, while God sets the Highest Example. He is the Mighty, the Wise.
16|61|If God were to hold mankind for their injustices, He would not leave upon it a single creature, but He postpones them until an appointed time. Then, when their time arrives, they will not delay it by one hour, nor will they advance it.
Some have used this as an argument that there is no infallible creatures, as this verse suggests that we are all unjust. The first point is that the verse refers to the whole of mankind as a whole, rather than individuals. The second, and deeper more truthful point is that there is no way any human can fully repay Allah for his mercy and opportunities.
Allah says : 16|18|And if you tried to enumerate the favors of God, you will not be able to count them. God is Forgiving and Merciful.
16|71|God has favored some of you over others in livelihood. Those who are favored would not give their properties to their servants, to the extent of making them partners in it. Will they then renounce God’s blessings?
Think about this, everything we have, we owe God for it, it is not ours, and not every good thing we have both in deeds and assets are ultimately from God. How can we pay God back for this? That is one reason the Prophets are known for their continuous prayer and dua for forgiveness, not for their mistakes, but because they owe God so much they feel they must continually pray to attempt to recognise this.
16|62|And they attribute to God what they themselves dislike, while their tongues utter the lie that theirs is the goodness. Without a doubt, for them is the Fire, and they will be neglected.
16|63|By God, We sent messengers to communities before you, but Satan made their deeds appear alluring to them. He is their master today, and they will have a painful punishment.
16|64|We revealed to you the Scripture only to clarify for them what they differ about, and guidance and mercy for people who believe.
16|65|God sends down water from the sky, with which He revives the earth after its death. In this is a sign for people who listen.
there is a causal system to God’s actions, see next few ayats
16|66|And there is a lesson for you in cattle: We give you a drink from their bellies, from between waste and blood, pure milk, refreshing to the drinkers.
16|67|And from the fruits of date-palms and grapevines, you derive sugar and wholesome food. In this is a sign for people who understand.
16|68|And your Lord inspired the bee: “Set up hives in the mountains, and in the trees, and in what they construct.”
16|69|Then eat of all the fruits, and go along the pathways of your Lord, with precision. From their bellies emerges a fluid of diverse colors, containing healing for the people. Surely in this is a sign for people who reflect.
16|70|God created you; then He takes you away. Some of you will be brought back to the worst age, so that he will no longer know anything, after having acquired knowledge. God is Omniscient and Omnipotent.
16|71|God has favored some of you over others in livelihood. Those who are favored would not give their properties to their servants, to the extent of making them partners in it. Will they then renounce God’s blessings?

What a powerful statement. God gives some people so much, but look at how they covet their weath, and how they will not share or look after others. Then to top it all off, they deny God, the one who have them everything.

16|72|God has given you mates from among yourselves; and has produced for you, from your mates, children and grandchildren; and has provided you with good things. Will they then believe in falsehood, and refuse God’s favors?
16|73|And yet they serve besides God what possesses no provisions for them in the heavens, nor on earth, nor are they capable.
16|74|So do not cite the examples for God. God knows, and you do not know.
16|75|God cites the example of a bonded slave, who has no power over anything; and someone to whom We have given plentiful provision, from which he gives secretly and openly. Are they equal in comparison? All praise belongs to God, but most of them do not know.
16|76|And God cites the example of two men: one of them dumb, unable to do anything, and is a burden on his master; whichever way he directs him, he achieves nothing good. Is he equal to him who commands justice, and is on a straight path?
16|77|To God belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth. The coming of the Hour is only as the twinkling of the eye, or even nearer. God has power over everything.
16|78|God brought you out of your mothers’ wombs, not knowing anything; and He gave you the hearing, and the eyesight, and the brains; that you may give thanks.

Consider a moral person but doesn’t believe e in God , are they truly moral? How can they ignore what God has given them and not thank Him at all? God only asks that you do good and acknowledge His existence and not associate anything with Him.

16|79|Have they not seen the birds, flying in the midst of the sky? None sustains them except God. In this are signs for people who believe.
16|80|And God has given you in your homes habitats for you, and has provided for you out of the hides of livestock portable homes for you, so you can use them when you travel, and when you camp; and from their wool, and fur, and hair, furnishings and comfort for a while.
16|81|And God has made for you shade out of what He has created, and has given you resorts in the mountains, and has given you garments to protect you from the heat, and garments to protect you from your violence. Thus He completes His blessings upon you, so that you may submit.
16|82|But if they turn away, your only duty is clear communication.
16|83|They recognize God’s blessing, but then deny it, as most of them are ungrateful.
16|84|On the Day when We raise up a witness from every community—those who disbelieved will not be permitted, nor will they be excused.
16|85|When those who did wrong see the punishment, it will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.
16|86|And when the idolaters see their associates, they will say, “Our Lord, these are our associates whom we used to invoke besides You.” They will strike back at them with the saying, “Surely you are liars.”
16|87|On that Day they will offer their submission to God, and what they had invented will abandon them.
16|88|Those who disbelieve and obstruct from God’s path—We will add punishment to their punishment, on account of the mischief they used to make.
16|89|On the Day when We raise in every community a witness against them, from among them, and bring you as a witness against these. We have revealed to you the Book, as an explanation of all things, and guidance, and mercy and good news for those who submit.

H 605, Ch. 35, h4
Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from
Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from abu ‘Abd Allah al-Mu‘min from ‘Abd al-A‘la Mawla
’Ala Sam who has said that he heard abu ‘Abd Allah, recipient of divine supreme
covenant, say the following:
“I swear by Allah that I know the book of Allah from
beginning to end as if it is in the palm of my hand. In it there is
the news of the heavens and the earth, the news of what has been
and the news of what will come into being. Allah, the Most
Holy, the Most High, has said, ‘In it there is the explanation of
all things.’” (16:89)

16|90|God commands justice, and goodness, and generosity towards relatives. And He forbids immorality, and injustice, and oppression. He advises you, so that you may take heed.
16|91|Fulfill God’s covenant when you make a covenant, and do not break your oaths after ratifying them. You have made God your guarantor, and God knows what you do.
16|92|And do not be like her who unravels her yarn, breaking it into pieces, after she has spun it strongly. Nor use your oaths as means of deception among you, because one community is more prosperous than another. God is testing you thereby. On the Day of Resurrection, He will make clear to you everything you had disputed about.
16|93|Had God willed, He would have made you one congregation, but He leaves astray whom He wills, and He guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do.
a great issue today is sectarianism and takfirism, Allah basically saying worry about your self and don’t get involved
16|94|And do not use your oaths to deceive one another, so that a foot may not slip after being firm, and you taste misery because you hindered from God’s path, and incur a terrible torment.
16|95|And do not exchange God’s covenant for a small price. What is with God is better for you, if you only knew.
16|96|What you have runs out, but what is with God remains. We will reward those who are patient according to the best of their deeds.
16|97|Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while being a believer, We will grant him a good life—and We will reward them according to the best of what they used to do.
Equal rights for male and female seem a given today, however historically this is a massive statement. At the time of early Islam, other faiths viewed woman as commodities, or animals with animal souls that just looked like humans.
16|98|When you read the Quran, seek refuge with God from Satan the outcast.
16|99|He has no authority over those who believe and trust in their Lord.
16|100|His authority is only over those who follow him, and those who associate others with Him.
16|101|When We substitute a verse in place of another verse—and God knows best what He reveals—they say, “You are an impostor.” But most of them do not know.
16|102|Say, “The Holy Spirit has brought it down from your Lord, truthfully, in order to stabilize those who believe, and as guidance and good news for those who submit.”
16|103|We are well aware that they say, “It is a human being who is teaching him.” But the tongue of him they allude to is foreign, while this is a clear Arabic tongue.
16|104|Those who do not believe in God’s revelations—God will not guide them, and for them is a painful punishment.
16|105|It is those who do not believe in God’s revelations who fabricate falsehood. These are the liars.
16|106|Whoever renounces faith in God after having believed—except for someone who is compelled, while his heart rests securely in faith—but whoever willingly opens up his heart to disbelief—upon them falls wrath from God, and for them is a tremendous torment.

H 2244, CH 93, h 15
Ali has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Jamil from
Muhammad ibn Marwan who has said the following:
“Once abu ‘Abd Allah, recipient of divine supreme covenant,
said to me, ‘What was it that prevented Maytham (may Allah
grant him blessings) from al-Taqiyyah?’ He by Allah knew that
this verse of the Holy Quran was revealed about ‘Ammar and his
people, ‘. . . unless he is forced, but his heart is confident with
belief. . . .’” (16:106)

H 2239, CH 93, h 10
Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Harun ibn Muslim from Mas’adah ibn Sadaqa
who has said the following:
“It was said to abu ‘Abd Allah, recipient of divine supreme
covenant, ‘People narrate that Ali, recipient of divine supreme
covenant, once said from the pulpit in al-Kufah, “O people, one
day you will be told to abuse me. You then will do so, then you
will be told to denounce me but you will not denounce me.” The
Imam said, ‘How often has this falsehood (lie) been told about
Ali, recipient of divine supreme covenant.’ The Imam then said,
‘What he said was: ‘One day you will be told to abuse me, you
must do so then you will be told to denounce me, and I follow
the religion of Muhammad, recipient of divine supreme
covenant. He did not say do not denounce me.’ The person
asking the question then asked, ‘Do you say he must have
chosen being murdered instead of denouncing?’ The Imam said,
‘By Allah, there was no such thing necessary for him to do.
There was nothing for him but that which happened to ‘Ammar
ibn Yasir when people of Makkah forced him and his heart was
confident with belief. Then Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most
Holy, revealed His words about it, ‘. . . except those who are
forced but their heart is confident with belief,’ (16:106) to which
the Holy Prophet said, ‘O ‘Ammar, if they would do such things
again you also may do as you have already done; Allah, the
Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has revealed His words about
your good excuse and has commanded you to do again what you
did before if they ever repeated their misdeed.’”

16|107|That is because they have preferred the worldly life to the Hereafter, and because God does not guide the people who refuse.
16|108|It is they whom God has sealed their hearts, and their hearing, and their sight. It is they who are the heedless.
16|109|There is no doubt that in the Hereafter they will be the losers.
16|110|But then your Lord—for those who emigrated after being persecuted, then struggled and persevered—your Lord thereafter is Forgiving and Merciful.
16|111|On the Day when every soul will come pleading for itself, and every soul will be paid in full for what it has done, and they will not be wronged.
16|112|And God cites the example of a town that was secure and peaceful, with its livelihood coming to it abundantly from every direction. But then it turned unappreciative of God’s blessings, so God made it taste the robe of hunger and fear, because of what they used to craft.
16|113|A messenger from among them had come to them, but they denounced him, so the punishment seized them in the midst of their wrongdoing.
16|114|Eat of the lawful and good things God has provided for you, and be thankful for God’s blessings, if it is Him that you serve.
16|115|He has forbidden you carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and anything consecrated to other than God. But if anyone is compelled by necessity, without being deliberate or malicious, then God is Forgiving and Merciful.
16|116|And do not say of falsehood asserted by your tongues, “This is lawful, and this is unlawful,” in order to invent lies and attribute them to God. Those who invent lies and attribute them to God will not succeed.

H 2822, CH 159, h 12
Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Sa’d from
Muhammad ibn Muslim from Ishaq ibn Musa who has said that narrated to him
his brother and uncle from abu ‘Abd Allah, recipient of divine supreme
covenant, who has said the following:
“There are three kinds of gatherings that Allah despises and
sends His anger upon the attendance therein. You must not sit
there to associate with them: a gathering wherein there is one
whose tongue speaks lies in his Fatwas (legal opinion), a
gathering wherein our enemies are praised freshly and we are
mentioned as old (of less value) ones, and a gathering wherein
obstacles are created for us and you know it.’ The Imam then
read three verses from the book of Allah as if they were in his
mouth (or as if they were on his palms): ‘O believers, do not say
bad words against the idols lest they (pagans) in their hostility
and ignorance say such words against Allah.’(6:108) ‘When you
see people mocking Our revelations, turn away from them so
that they may change the subject. . . .’ (6:68) ‘(Unbelievers), do
not follow whatever your lying tongues may tell you is lawful or
unlawful to invent lies against Allah. . . .’” (16:116)

16|117|A brief enjoyment—then they will have a painful punishment.
16|118|For those who are Jews, We have prohibited what We related to you before. We did not wrong them, but they used to wrong their own selves.
16|119|But towards those who do wrongs in ignorance, and then repent afterwards and reform, your Lord thereafter is Forgiving and Merciful.
16|120|Abraham was a nation, devoted to God, a monotheist, and was not of the polytheists.
H 2312, CH 96, h 5 Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Sinan from ‘Ammar ibn Marwan from Sama’a ibn Mehran who has said the following: “A virtuous servant (of Allah), recipient of divine supreme covenant, said to me, ‘O Sama’a, they (pretending Shi’a) found their belief in their beds and they (attempt) to frighten me (ignoring al-Taqiyah). By Allah, once of the whole world and all that is therein there was only one person who worshipped Allah. Had there been anyone else, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, would have mentioned him with him in His words, ‘Abraham was, certainly, a nation, (in terms of having a whole culture and tradition) obedient and upright person. He was not a pagan.’ (16:120) “Time passed as Allah willed. Allah then provided him comfort with Isma’il and Ishaq and they numbered three. By Allah, believers are very few and unbelievers (people of imperfect belief) are many. Do you know why that is?’ I said, ‘May Allah keep my soul in service for your cause, I do not know.’ The Imam said, ‘They (less perfect believers) have become a source of comfort for the  believers who spread their secrets to the hearts (of less perfect believers) to find relief and in this they do find relief.”
16|121|Thankful for His blessings. He chose him, and guided him to a straight path.
16|122|And We gave him goodness in this world, and in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.
16|123|Then We inspired you: “Follow the religion of Abraham, the Monotheist. He was not an idol-worshipper.”

16:123 prophet Ibrahem AS was not a polytheist, and the verses that suggest otherwise are simply part of his rhetorical argumentation.

16|124|The Sabbath was decreed only for those who differed about it. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences.
16|125|Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good advice, and debate with them in the most dignified manner. Your Lord is aware of those who stray from His path, and He is aware of those who are guided.
When discussing things with people who you disagree with in religion, you cant insult or be derogatory.
16|126|If you were to retaliate, retaliate to the same degree as the injury done to you. But if you resort to patience—it is better for the patient.
16|127|So be patient. Your patience is solely from God. And do not grieve over them, and do not be stressed by their schemes.
16|128|God is with those who are righteous and those who are virtuous.
